to new ventures on the Latah Trail! From railroad beds to bike trails,
connection between towns within Latah County and beyond have contributed
to the lifeblood of our communities. Trains, bikes, and people all
navigated these rolling hills we call the Palouse. Let’s celebrate this
connected network of communities by remembering the Bug, the old
passenger train of the past, our hikes and bike rides of the present,
and the potential of the Trail for the future.
other year, the Latah Trail Foundation hosts a Live & Silent Dinner
Auction (this year, we will try an online auction) to fund raise for
projects on the Trail. We are homing in on the washed-out area just
beyond the end of the pavement in Bear Creek Canyon. University of Idaho
engineering students are
drafting up solutions and Alta Science & Engineering have done a
LiDAR survey. This is truly a community effort. The first steps are
taking its course and we want to be ready to tackle the slump!
sit back, relax, and enjoy a glass of wine! There's no live auction to
drive home from for the night, no awkward social encounters (in fact, a
healthy dose of social distancing), no risk of the bad kind of bug!
